 YCT (Youth Chinese Test)

To meet the world's increasing demand to learn the Chinese language in various sectors, at different proficiency levels and for different age groups, the Office of the International Chinese Language Council (hereafter referred to as "Hanban") has launched Chinese Proficiency Tests in various formats, types and levels.  The Department of Germanic, Slavic and East Asian Studies has been invited by Hanban to administer the Proficiency Test--HSK and YCT tests.  HSK is an international benchmark for Chinese language proficiency for the purposes of academic pursuits or to meet living and working needs.  There are 3 levels of assessments: basic [HSK Basic], elementary and intermediate [HSK Elementary-Intermediate] and advanced [HSK Advanced].  YCT is an international Chinese Language proficiency test designed for non-native speakers below the age of 15.  There are 3 levels of assessments:  YCT Level 1, YCT Level 2, YCT Level 3.  The HSK test date is March 15, 2009; the YCT test date is February 28, 2009.  Registration deadline is at 4:00 pm on January 16, 2009.  For the detailed information, please click here.
